Arcare is pleased to announce Peregian as the site of our newest aged care facility ‘Arcare Peregian’ on the Sunshine Coast.

A leading provider of aged care services in Victoria and South East Queensland, Arcare has identified the significant development prospects of the region, and believes the Sunshine Coast provides an ideal location in which to establish a community-orientated aged care facility.

The Sunshine Coast Council has been pro-active in recognising the need for aged care services in the area, as well as displaying a commitment to creating a more diversified economic environment. In line with this, the construction of Arcare Peregian, will at its peek, employ up to 75 workers across a variety of trades. When construction is completed in 2012 the facility will employ over 130 people in key sectors such as nursing, hospitality, maintenance and administration.

Arcare has a long history of creating aged care facilities that maintain strong links to local communities, and believe that Arcare Peregian will continue this trend. By connecting with local schools and businesses, Arcare’s facilities foster strong relationships between families, community members and residents.

Arcare Peregian will showcase a contemporary take on the best traditional Queensland architecture creating a truly stunning modern aged care facility. The 90 bed facility will cater for both low (hostel) and high (nursing home) residents. All rooms will be single with individual ensuite bathrooms as well as warm and inviting communal living and dining rooms. The residents will also enjoy an on site café, beauty salon and many more luxury appointments.

Arcare prides itself on offering care to people from diverse backgrounds be it cultural, religious or financial. This has been at the cornerstone of our development that will see Arcare Peregian become our 16th facility. We now provide care to over 1400 residents and employ over 1800 staff.

Department of Health and Ageing statistics indicate that the number of people aged over 85 will quadruple from between 2010 and 2050. Following the completion of Arcare Peregian a further development on the Sunshine Coast will commence to ensure the area is well placed to meet the increased demand placed on the aged care system.
