Arcare is pleased to announce Hope Island as the site of our newest aged care facility ‘Arcare Hope Island’. Along with Arcare Helensvale, this development will extend the Arcare family on the northern end of the Gold Coast.
A leading provider of aged care services in South East Queensland and Victoria, Arcare has identified the significant development prospects of the region, and believes that Hope Island provides an ideal location in which to establish a community-orientated aged care facility.
The Gold Coast City Council has been pro-active in recognising the need for aged care services in the area, as well as displaying a commitment to creating a more diversified economic environment. In line with this, the construction of Arcare Hope Island, will at its construction peek employ up to 75 workers across a variety of trades. When operational the facility will employ over 130 people in key sectors such as nursing, hospitality, maintenance and administration, all committed to genuine care.
Arcare Hope Island will showcase a contemporary take on the best traditional Queensland architecture creating a truly stunning modern aged care facility. The 108 bed facility will cater for both low (hostel) and high (nursing home) residents. The facility will also provide a specialised ‘Sensitive Care Unit’ catering for the needs of residents with a diagnosis of Dementia or Alzheimers.
All bedrooms within the facility will be single with individual en-suite bathrooms as well as providing warm and inviting communal living and dining rooms. The residents will also enjoy an on site café, beauty salon and our proposed first ever physiotherapy service that will be provided via Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy , in conjunction with Mater Health Centre.
Arcare prides itself on offering care to people from diverse backgrounds be it cultural, religious or financial. This has been at the cornerstone of our growth and development that will see Arcare Hope Island become our 17th facility. We now provide care to over 1400 residents and employ over 1800 staff.
Department of Health and Ageing statistics indicate that the number of people aged over 85 will quadruple between 2010 and 2050. Arcare’s newest development at Hope Island will further ensure that the Gold Coast area is well placed to meet the increasing demand of this growing demographic.
Arcare invites media to attend the official launch of the works on Wednesday 12th October at 10:00 am at 10 Halcyon Way, Hope Island
