CEO

Colin is the Chief Executive Officer of Arcare Pty Ltd and of K&M Healthcare Pty Ltd. He has 20 years’ experience in the Health and Aged Care Industry and his scope of experience covers the Public, Private and Not For Profit Sectors. He has been a financial advisor to various aged care providers and he established an Industry Consultancy Practice encompassing service to:

Prior to joining Arcare Colin held the position of CFO at Jewish Care for seven years. He joined Arcare in Feb 2009 to establish the CFO position and was responsible for driving the future financial performance across the group, including setting and implementing financial objectives for the group and leading and supporting the Management Team to achieve financial objectives.

Mal Humphries

Director of Development

Previously the CEO, Mal led Arcare from its inception as ARCare in 1999 when it was formed as a division of Australian Retirement Communities until Dec 2010 when he moved to his current role where he will be responsible for new developments and acquisitions. Previously Mal spent 23 years in the retirement industry in both the church and private sectors. Mal has been a Director of Aged & Community Care Victoria (previously VAHEC) for six years and is active in the Church of Christ where he has been a member of the Eldership Council for the past six years. A Certified Practising Accountant for 25 years, he was once a Minister of Religion where he ministered both in Australia and in missionary roles overseas. He is deeply committed to improving quality of care for the elderly and has been instrumental in making Arcare a ‘great place to live and work’.

Kay Foster, B.H.Sc.(Nursing), RN

COO

Kay is the Chief Operations Officer of Arcare and of K & M Healthcare, specialising in operational performance, clinical governance and quality management. A Registered Nurse with over 30 years experience in healthcare management and clinical practice in Victoria and New South Wales, she commenced her nursing career in the acute care sector and has expertise in critical care and surgical and operating theatre environments. In 2001 she joined Arcare to assist in the operational development of residential services and to lead organisational change. Kay is responsible for developing management systems that continue to be responsive to the ever changing needs of the aged care sector. Her expertise in leading high performance teams supports innovative practice, improved outcomes for all stakeholders and the development of an organisational culture that engenders loyalty and professional growth for all employees. Kay was the owner and operator of a busy inner city restaurant in Melbourne for six years.
