Melanie Mazzarolli

Manager - Arcare Training Academy

My nursing career began at Arcare as a student nursing assistant in 2001, I returned to Aged Care following the completion of a Graduate Nurse Program in 2005. I have never looked back. Starting as a casual RN, to being an after hours supervisor and then a Nurse Unit Manager, before being offered a Facility Management position, I am now the manager of Arcare's new venture - the Arcare Training Academy.

Educationally, I have attended short courses and seminars on an ongoing basis , as well as completing a Diploma of Business (Frontline Management). In 2009 I commenced a Master of Education to support my work in research and planning as well as mentoring and guiding staff. The role of Facility Manager allows me many opportunities for achievement with the support I receive from my mentors. I am confident in what I do, and I am supported to make my own decisions.

Working for Arcare has been a treasured experience and I look forward to the many years ahead.

Regional Operations Manager

I joined Arcare in 2002 as a Trainee Division 2 Nurse. Arcare has provided me with a fantastic career pathway.

I completed my nursing traineeship in 2004 and in 2005 I was offered the position of Care Coordinator at Arcare Delbridge. I was able to expand my education by completing my Medication Endorsement and Diploma of Business (Frontline Management).

In 2007 I was offered the position of facility manager at Arcare Delbridge and in 2009 took up the position of Manager-Funding and Clinical Review for the Arcare group. In 2010 I was offered the position of Regional Operations Manager for the North/West region of Melbourne. Without the ongoing educational opportunities, support and mentoring of the wonderful staff and management at Arcare, I would definitely not be as successful as I am today.

This is what I love about working for Arcare, it definitely is "a great place to live and work."

Manager Arcare Hampstead

From the age of 17 I knew I wanted a career helping people. I have been nursing with Arcare for 10 years. Firstly as a PCA whilst on a DIV2 traineeship. After completing my traineeship I then worked as a DIV2 Nurse for 5 years and completed my Medication Endorsement. Arcare in-house training and education has developed my skills and knowledge whilst encouraging and supporting me professionally and personally.

I am now a Facility Manager for one of Arcare’s 90 bed high care facilities and have commenced my Diploma of Business (Frontline Management). Arcare is a great organisation to work for, valuing their staff and recognising their commitment in providing the highest quality care to our residents. Arcare is not only my workplace but also a home away from home.

It is the continuous support from my colleagues and management that has made me proud to be where I am today.
